A fine example of professionalism on social media

I feel compelled to mention this after reading the following thread on the forum: https://forum.barbellmedicine.com/forums/medical-q-a-with-dr-jordan-feigenbaum-and-dr-austin-baraki/27231-litmus-test-for-intelligence-tendinopathies

It is easy for anyone to behave poorly under the shelter of anonymity, but what really distinguishes the credibility of an individual, aside from the level of expertise presented, is their professionalism and unwavering ability to embrace dialogue respectfully despite being treated poorly by others.

I know that Jordan and the rest of the BBM crew foster an environment of respect and open dialogue on here, but it must be emphasized that this requires a great deal of restraint, especially when dealing with people who are 1) uneducated on the topic, and 2) come with an agenda to promote confrontation rather than to learn and enjoy productive discussion.

Unsurprisingly, Jordan has chosen to keep the aforementioned thread up. I hope this serves as a lesson to others like the poster in that thread to read between the lines and realize that you are much more likely to enjoy yourself and learn something new if you behave as you would when having a conversation in person. It is OK to disagree, but there is always a way to express your opposing opinion(s) with tact.

Professionalism’s all well and good. However, I also enjoy the bringing of the salt…

I too was impressed with the restraint in dealing with that individual.

I do think part of it was that the OP was not a native English speaker. Getting and displaying nuance in a second/third/whatever language is very tough. Many people can’t do it in their first and only language!

If this isn’t meant to be sarcastic, thank you for giving them the benefit of the doubt. It is also highly likely that some troll just picked a gibberish Chinese user name and wrote with grandiose words to not so subtly imply their butthurtness… Now unlike you, I’m a cynic and choose to believe the latter. Very entertaining read though!

No sarcasm from me. I think the poster was being a jerk too, but have found it’s better for my stress level to assume good intentions until proven otherwise.

Professionalism i when they do realy care about their customers and so on. There are a lot of services that seems to be good but with no support for their customers. This podcast is very interesting one. Why not to try to recruit it on instagram? I have a friend, he is a surgeon. His instagram is about medical riddles and every interesting case. Such Instagram accs are very good ways to learn something new especially about surgery. As I understood he is using some special services to accumulate likes and Follower to make instagram more appeared. May be you need to try something like this? Because where is very small amount of such useful sources. I’ll leave a link of that service, may be you’ll find it an interesting one.
