Adidas Power Lift 3.1's

I’ve only ever lifted in skateboarding shoes before and I read here that a decent shoe to start into the world of lifting shoes would be the adidas power lifts. They’re in my price range and I would like to give them a try but before I do, are there any advice points for fitting that I need to know about? I don’t live near anywhere that would allow me to try any so I have to order them on amazon. I can get them for 70 bucks with prime right now. I actually lift in adidas skateboarding shoes right now (suciu’s) and I wear a 13 in those. Should I order the 13D men’s on amazon and just give it a go?

They’re definitely solid starter shoes. The heels are low enough to comfortably deadlift in, but high enough to comfortably squat in. My girlfriend has a pair of power lift 2s and is pretty happy with them. I tried a pair in store, but ended up going for a pair of Reebok legacy lifters that I got a good deal on through Amazon.

A fitting note is that they usually fit a bit small and narrow. I usually wear a size 12 (slightly wide) and a 13 fit me pretty well, and my girlfriend sized up too, so I would suggest sizing up if at all possible while still getting a good deal. I think Amazon has a shoe size suggestion tool.

Thanks man. I went with the 13.5’s and I can return them for free on amazon if they do not fit right.

Also, as far as shoes are concerned if I’ve never used lifting shoes before, can I just squat as usual in them or do I need to drop weight and work up with them to get used to the heel lift? I’m not gonna get any like knee stress from using my normal working sets with them right off the bat right?

You’ll probably take some sets to get used to them. But in my case, at the end of the first session I was almost as confortable as with the old shoes.
