Greetings Jordan, I’ve been cruising around on the forum and noticed that you make really wide recommendations for protein intake. I’m currently in week 10 of the beginner template and I’m a little fluffier than I’d like. FWIW, male, age 37, 5’11", 198 lbs, 35" waist, and I figure I’m somewhere in the 16-19%bf range. I lift first thing in the morning and I set up my macros based on the 200 lb male numbers TBAB. I’m find that other than eating 80 g of oats and a small banana around my workout, the rest of my carbs for the day end up being really little piles of sweet potatoes, beans, or brown rice, along with an apple and half a cup of berries. Is it fine to reduce protein from 250 g to 230 g and shift those calories to carbs, provided I don’t exceed my daily calorie allowance?
You could go down to 150g protein if you wanted and be 100% fine.
Interesting. Knowing that gives me a lot more room to play with the macro numbers and enjoy bigger piles of carbs.
Any plans on updating that article to reflect what you’ve learned in the last couple years?
Maybe. I don’t think the recommendations are bad per se’, but there’s just more nuance there
