Am I still underweight?

Hey BBM team,

I’m a 27 year old M, 5’6" and current BW is 155lbs. I started SSNLP in May 2020 when gyms opened back up in my state and have been running through the Beginner Template for the past 4 weeks. When I started back in May, I weighed 135lbs. My numbers at the end of NLP were as follows:
Squat 3x5 230#
Bench 3x5 120#
Press 3x5 100#
Deadlift 1x5 280#

I try to hit 3000kcal/day with 200g protein. Most days, I don’t hit this exactly because of my busy work schedule and honestly eating that much food makes me feel sick. I haven’t felt run down or weak with my workouts on the BT but should I be all that concerned about gaining mass at this point? I don’t plan on being a world class powerlifter, but I’ve gotten it in my head from years of listening to others in the barbell scene that I need to be somewhere north of 185lbs in order to be “strong”. I’m definitely stronger than I used to be but I would like to be stronger, for sure.

Thanks in advance!

I think if you wanted to slowly gain weight, that’s cool, but you definitely don’t need to weigh 185 to be “strong” and even if that is the strongest weight for you…that would be the goal years from now. Slowly but surely, always forward.
