Another New PB template Question

Good afternoon,

I received an email with a 50% off code for PB1, Gen 2, which got me contemplating what’s next. Would buy GS&C1 or PB1 gen 2 next.

For background, I’m currently on the beginner template, Block 2, week 3. Training is going and I’m making good progress. For context, I’m a 38 male, 5’9 and 185 pounds. I’m nearing all time PR’s in Squat and DL, still about 10% to 15% off a bench PR. ER1 max on squat is 360, Deadlift is 382, and bench is 205, and I’m excited about all of those. I’ve been training since 2019, but have been off and on since last year with the birth of my son in June of 2023 completing various blocks of the beginner template. Prior to June of 2023, I had completed the beginner template, multiple runs of PB1 and 1 run of PL2. While lifting and dedicated conditioning since June of 2023 has been sporadic, I have not been totally sediment. I continued to play pickleball several times a week, so I maintained some conditioning, although its not as much exercise as I wish it was, lol.

All that history aside, I’ve been training regularly since early August, and am nearing completion of the Block 2 of the beginner template. Really feeling good and motivated. My goals at this point are probably not well defined. I’d say at this point, I’m primarily training to meet activity guidelines and promote health. Aside from that, pickleball has become a real passion of mine, so better conditioning in that context would be nice. I’d also like to see my strength continue to go up in the big 3, no plans to compete, just like seeing the progress for ego and motivation. Aside from that, if I add muscle size, fantastic, who doesn’t want to be more “jacked,” lol.

With that in mind, after I finish the beginner template, would you favor General Strength and Conditioning 1 for me next, or PB1 Gen 2? I was originally planning on GS&C 1, but the description of PB1 Gen 2 sounds enticing.

Lastly, I kind of want to skip Block 3 of the beginner template and jump in to GS&C 1 or PB1 Gen 2, would you be opposed to that, or would you strongly recommend running Block 3 first.

As usual, thanks!!![/FONT]

I’d favor the 2nd Generation Powerbuilding I in this case. You can skip the 3rd block on the Beginner Template if you prefer. After you go through PB I, I would consider Gen S/C I or the 3-day Gen S/C II template, depending on how much conditioning you want. Gen S/C II has more conditioning than I, thus requiring more training time each week.
