They have been for some time. Hopefully uncle rippy doesn’t find out. Or maybe he should find out and have a come to Jesus moment
I stopped paying any attention to the SS/BBL crew many months ago. They lost all respect I had for them when they started so obviously putting their own financial goals (marketing SSOC) ahead of actually helping their clients by objectively looking at evidence. The best thing you can do is to quit giving them views on YouTube/iTunes/wherever, stop going to their website, and stop interacting with their social media accounts. Clicks are cash, and I personally refuse to let them generate any more income off of me. In Rip’s own words “let the market decide”, well I make damn sure they don’t get any votes from me…
I am like @PWard , I have little time to give or spare to SS/BBL. I stopped listening to the podcasts and stopped reading the Rip Q&A, which now reads like a political right wing blog or a testimonial by people who have never trained and spout right wing ideologies so as not to upset TMPHITU, or whatever he calls himself. Also “voluntary hardship” everything, completely misusing what Mr Money Moustache defined it for. It is obvious that Matt is trying to line himself up as the successor to Rip to own and take over SS, so much so that the latest thingy about getting the SSC credential is a direct line to become an SSOC. I also really like that the path includes interning at SSOC before getting the SSC, i.e. free slave labour as an intern. Fucking atrocious, but what are you going to do with these so called libertarians in the deep south. Wouldn’t fly in any other part of the world (but whatever, anywhere that isn’t the deep south is communist and socialist, obviously). What they don’t realise, is that by doing so they are alienating people who may actually want to do the SSC credential as the next step is to work for SSOC. I know of another bunch who did what Jordan, Austin, Leah, Alan, and Tom by leaving: the Bay Strength bunch (I saw it on Jordan’s insta feed thingy) and they were substantially more direct than BBM (just a different way of doing it, not better, not worse). Whatever. Don’t give SS/BBL/SSOC the views and clicks.
My take is threads concerning the goings on at SS/BBL are redundant.
Listening to that podcast is voluntary hardship.
I listen to BBL from time to time, if the topic is of interest to me. Just yesterday I listened to the Q&A one. All things considered it wasn’t bad. Even BBM-esque in some spots (supplemental lifts to correct issues with the main lifts, in SS?)
It’d be a lot better if it were Hambrick and someone else, though. Hambrick strikes me as a smart, sensible, humble guy. I do hear him strain now and then to tow the company line, but all employees do that. But Reynolds man, jeesh. For a company that prides itself on putting function over form, he sure is obsessed with image.
My take is that the guy in the thumbnail is clearly a beast.
Oh, and that RPE is a useful tool, descriptively or prescriptively, regardless of the fact that some people screw it up. Some people get hurt using chainsaws, but we wouldn’t say recommending them is lumberjack malpractice.
I think calling it Barbell Logic is kind of redundant dont you think… ?
Barbell Dogma?
