so about a month ago I ordered myself a pioneer 13 mm lever belt. I measured Around the navel and got 38 inches so that fit into the category of a large size. for some reason, I did not keep in mind that I am doing a cut right now to trim my waist down just a bit. So now to have the belt fit me it has to be on almost one of the smallest holes, which is an issue because all of the extra slack in the belt digs into my ribs and interferes with my squats a lot. When handling heavier weight and bracing more it’s almost as if it limits my depth because if I go any deeper it causes a lot of rib cage pain and discomfort. I’ve tried positioning the belt differently and moving it up some but every time I end up shifting my weight to one side and squats to avoid discomfort and it’s really screwing with me. What do?
You’re going to need a smaller belt, methinks. #firstworldproblems
Good timing as I was about to post a similar complaint. I started with a Best Belts 4" (Athlete) and had the same issue. I’ve since moved down to a 3" belt but I’m still having the same issues. Surely the answer can’t be to move down yet again to 2"…right?
Wait, just realized I’m having a related (but different) issue–it’s not the extra slack in the belt that gets me. It’s the width.
That seems highly unlikely given that relatively short and small athletes are able to lift using a 4" belt without issues. Post a video highlighting where you’re wearing the belt and lifting in it so we can see what you’re talking about.
