I am on week 7 of the Time Crunch-Pivot program and I’ve been getting bilateral biceps pain/soreness with benching. I recently watched a video on bench grip from a competing strength training website (!!) and widened my grip. Is it possible that this is responsible for the discomfort? Does a wider grip “stress” the biceps more?
Hey @SVRao - difficult to state what’s happening. Most likely a loading based issue. Have you tried altering programming (frequency, sets, reps, intensity) of the bench press to see how you respond?
Thanks for responding. Like you all have said before, the discomfort was self-limited. Went completely away this week. My bench is quite weak relative to my other lifts and I may have been pushing the RPE a bit. About to start the 3 day hypertrophy template and I’ll be conservative with intensity on the bench and see how it goes.
