I’m on the final week of the GPP 4 Hypertrophy (Would highly recommend to anyone reading this, I have had several comments regarding increased arm size J) and have been gaining 1-1.5lbs per throughout the duration, weight has gone from 183lbs to 192lbs (6 foot, 28yo). I am planning on starting the 3 week “slow” peaking template next week in an attempt to hit some goal lifts I set myself at the start of the year.
Q1. Would you recommend I continue with the calorie surplice whilst running the peaking template or would adjusting calories to maintenance for a few weeks due to the decrease in volume be a smarter approach?
Q2. (Related, but not nutrition related sorry). When I’ve finished the peaking template I plan on running the 12 week strength again, would you recommend skipping week 1 as if I remember correctly, V1 of the template had a week 0 and advised to skip if coming from a deload week which I (possibly incorrectly) assume a peak kind of is due to the low volume?
