Hello doctors,
So, I started the 4day split this week. Given my schedule up to this point, Tue/Wed and Frid/Saturday worked. As of next week, this will no longer be possible for me, so I have to change to Mon/Tue and Thu/Fri to continue the program. But this means that, if I follow the 4 day split this week, I will have only Sunday to recover from week 1 before starting the week 2 of the program. Will this be a problem? I do not want to overtrain or something. What do you recommend? I thought about skipping Saturday’s (the 4th day) workout, to have the weekend off, but I’m not sure if this is the right thing to do.
Thanks.
Hi Antowan,
I’d recommend keeping the program as is and complete day 4. It looks like your new schedule will have Day 4 and Day 1 on Monday, so that’s perfect.
Hello Leah,
Thanks a lot for the quick reply! Great. I’ll stick to the program and complete day 4. Just a clarification: my new schedule will have day 1 on Monday and day 4 on Friday not Monday, as you wrote. Do you mean that I should do day 4 of week 1 (scheduled for this week for Saturday, that is, tomorrow) on day 1 of week 2 (on the new schedule), that is, together on Monday?
My current schedule has day 1 on Tuesdays and day 4 on Saturdays. So moving from this schedule if stick to it this week, with day 4 of week 1 on Saturday, to the new one, with day 1 of week 2 on Monday, will only leave me with one day off (Sunday) in between week 1 and week 2. I wanted to know if that should be of any concern.
Thanks a lot for the prompt reply. I wasn’t expecting that. I know you guys are super busy. I very much appreciate it!
No, sorry, I left off “Friday.” If you are training on Friday and then again on Monday, this is TOTALLY fine. And the one week transition with Sat and then Monday will also be totally fine. Go in on Monday expecting a normal training session.
Also you’re welcome! Sometimes we are fast, sometimes…not so much. Haha
