Chronic muscle shortening & sarcomerogenesis

Hey guys, I was wondering if chronic muscle shortening is actually a thing (i.e. shortened psoas due to sitting for 8hrs) and if not, is there a reliable source/study that backs it up? I’ve also stumbled upon the concept of “sarcomerogenesis” that claims to be a mechanism by which sarcomeres are generated in series in order to promote fascicle lengthening. Any thoughts and/or sources about these concepts? (P.D. I’m having a discussion with a physical therapist)

I’m not educated enough to give an informed response but I don’t really think that’s a thing, I’d ask the PT you’re discussing this with to define it and prove that it’s a problem.
As far as sarcomergenesis, idk dude.
