I have a client that has a unique condition that is preventing him from squatting and deadlifting. Specifically, his doctor has diagnosed him with chronic non-bacterial prostatitis/chronic pain syndrom (CP/CPPS). He experiences a lot of pain in the groin area after a set of heavy squats or deadlifts. When I take away the squats and deadlifts, the pain goes away. So right now, I’m having him do very light squats and deadlifts just to “grease the groove”. Light weight does not irritate him. Heavy rows may trigger it as well. However, I have yet to determine that.
I was wondering if you would have any experience with training a person with such a condition or have any suggestions?
