I’ve read and heard you guys mention collagen peptides for tendon remodeling in tendinopathy cases. I have an expensive grass fed collagen peptide supplement that we were using for my son. I heard you say on a recent q&a that gelatin from the supermarket could be used. Is this correct, could I just grab a couple boxes of jello and throw it in a shaker cup for the same (potential) effect? This is for a chronic patellar tendinopathy that’s been going on for years.
Thanks for any clarification you could give.
Yes, grass fed collagen protein is unnecessary (or grass fed anything, really). 12g is the dose. We are also coming out with a supplement for this market.
I’m skeptical of the diagnosis of chronic patellar tendinopathy, however. You may benefit from speaking with Dr. Miles or Ray about a plan to fix this thing once and for all.
Thanks Doc. I’ve been told it’s not arthritis via x-ray (I’m 45 years old). Diagnosed as PFPS, going on 5 years now. I found a great PT off Clinical Athlete and have made some progress in ROM, but the pain and tightness remains consistent outside of the gym. I did post a question to Dr. Ray about adding isometrics for this issue, perhaps I’ll discuss my case further with him.
Thanks again.
