After nearly two years of trying to rehab my patellar tendonitis (self diagnosed, correctly) I went to a local sports medicine ortho. The doctor did some xrays and then an ultrasound on the tendon and showed that i have some pretty severe levels of chronic inflammation and micro tearing (duh). He offered two ways to go to try and rehab.
- Topical steroid cream and about a month of shockwave therapy along with some physical therapy.
- Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy.
Anyone have experience with either shockwave therapy and/or PRP that can help guide me in which way I should go? Both are going to cost me $1000+ if I do either…
Thanks!
