Crapping out week 8 Strength

I did week 7 deload, though my DL was up again to single @ 435 and squats single @375 kind of grinded. I got a flu shot on Thursday and the Thu/Fri training kind of dragged. Got it done though.

This week
Mon: Did squats 380 and felt good, no grinding, OHP was down but not too worried and supplemental bench moved nicely, though my whole workout kind of dragged and took 2.5hr.
Tue: DL completely bombed out with my 1@8 (felt more like 9) was 405 and volume was really taxing. Competition bench single was up 5lb to 215 @8, and I was too dead to do the supplemental squats at 2hr15min.

I went into my workout feeling pretty good, but performance was subpar. Is this just an off week? This is my first time running a strength template after completing NLP then Bridge 2.0, so it’s been all GainzZz up to this point. I’m guessing this may be what auto-regulation is all about and this is kind of a learning experience for RPE etc. just wondering if i’ve fried my CNS :slight_smile:

M / 40 / 235lb->211lb / 5’10" currently cutting for health with a meet Dec. 2 as motivation, 8-9hr sleep.

Ups and downs are quite normal, and yes – this is the entire point of auto regulation. You’ll be fine :slight_smile:

Thanks a lot – guess I’ll have to get used to not having a PR every workout.

Also – good work at Nationals, was pretty cool being able to watch the BBM crew on the live stream!
