Creatine and lack of sleep, also 3 meals a day.

Jordan,

I apologize if I posted this in the wrong section.

I am a 33 year old detective for a busy and understaffed unit. Due to my job, I work unpredictable hours, I get called out, and often work doubles (7a-11p). I would like to train first thing in the morning (5am), because I know this way it will get done. Would creatine help with the effects of feeling sleep deprived? If not or even if so, what would you recommend I do? Also, do you have any suggestions for eating 3 meals a day, plus 2 protein shakes?

Will,

Thanks for your service. Creatine probably won’t help you feel less sleepy, but it might make you feel better recovered.

As far as what I recommend you do, I’m not sure what you mean. I recommend you train when you can religiously.

As far as suggestions for eating 3x/day + 2 protein shakes, again I’m not sure what you mean. That seems reasonable to me if the components of the meal are appropriate.

Sorry, I didn’t realize how crappy my post was. As far as what should I do. I meant, take other supplements, such as ZMA or just power through on coffee and creatine. Also, in regards to 3 meals a day, I find it’s hard to get hit desired calories (2800-3000), following a high protein and card diet, and low on fat. Do you recommend eating higher fat containing foods, such as whole eggs, beef, and even milk or just try bigger portion sizes of lean meats?

Eh, ZMA isn’t going to help anything. I would plan on just using coffee as needed and sleeping as well as possible.

I do not recommend eating a higher fat diet, rather eating more lean protein and higher carb sources like rice, potatoes, oats, cereals, etc.
