I have lactose intolerance, dairy product/concentrate whey always give me bad time. I’m wondering if it is possible to tolerate dairy product more and more by ‘progressively overload’ it.
I can drink 200ml milk without bad stomach, then I start week1 with consume this amount daily, then next week add 100ml to it, the week after that add another 100ml to it…
It’s possible, though if you are of Asian descent and have diagnosed lactose intolerance I don’t suspect it will work. I would recommend lactase pills instead.
Does Lactase have a long half time?
Example if you drank milk with lactase for 6 days on the 7th day you wouldn’t need to take it to still drink milk?
i’m curious because my spouse being lactose interplant her whole life since she was a baby and started drinking milk with lactase in it last year. Now she can eat cream cheese and other dairy products and doesn’t drink the milk anymore.
My theory is she either “out grew her lactose intolerance” or the milk slowly adapted her to it.
The milk did the same thing to my lactose intolerance but i wasn’t born that way and just developed it one year i think i just got used to milk again.
I’m of Asian decent, and I have lactose intolerance as well. However, I only get an upset stomach with large amounts of it. I use ON Gold Standard whey, and my stomach seems to tolerate it ok, as long as I have it with food.
Such a shame, because I really, really like ice cream. And all the lactose-free ice cream brands at my grocery store are also low-fat/flavor
Question Jordan, is lactose just the milk sugar? If so, does that mean things like heavy whipping cream are basically lactose free?
Yeah I started drinking a cup or so of whole milk a day since finishing my cut a couple weeks ago and moving to maintenance calories. Bad gas ensues for hours after–I’m hoping it’s not a permanent intolerance (I’m not asian).
