i am eating in a deficit and eating 1.5g/kg protein daily. My goal is to cut fat and keep muscle size. I am doing the bodybuilding 1 routine, and just finishing the first 6 weeks. I have lost 2 inches on waist, lost 8 lbs total, my arm size has gone down about 0.25 inches. My strength on every lift has increased including arm work
is the 0.25 inch loss mostly glycogen and water, or have I lost too much muscle? Or yes some muscle is lost but this is inevitable?
also I assume I should do all 3 phases of the Bb1 routine, as opposed to Jsut doing phase 1 for 18 weeks total?
I’d chalk it up to mostly non contractile muscle mass changes and measurement error given that you’re training and not protein deficient.
I don’t think phase I is likely to work for 18 weeks, though theoretically someone could do that. As mentioned in the included PDF, the templates are designed to be run back to back to back, though they can be run as buffer blocks of training in between strength blocks if preferred. You could also run the final week of the program for 2-4 more weeks if the program is working, but that’d be about as long as I’d run any single block.
