Deadlift strap help

Hello. I just got my ironmind Sew easy straps. I know “how” to use them… wrap em around give the bar some “throttle”, grip tight and flex the,wrist back. Nice and tight.

Problem em is I don’t know “how” to use them I.e once I get the left hand cinched tight, when I go to cinch up the right hand, the left hand loosens. So it seems there is a bit of nuance to this things.

While this is happening I’m losing my set up as the bar moves. Then I worry about the untamed one poking his head around the corner and yelling at me… “DO - NOT - MOVE - THE - BARBELL!!”

any tips? Am I missing something totally obvious?

I find I tighten one side, then the next, and then twist both hands to get them tight again, rolling the bar into the straps with both hands.

There is an Alan Thrall joke here I’m sure.

I tightened up the straps and then set my feet and do the normal setup. I tried to set my feet and then do the straps and I kept rolling the bar around.

Adam, one of Allen’s how to deadlift videos features Allen peeking out from a barbell holder or something of that nature yelling “do not move the barbell”. He does it throughout the video. Pure gold!
