Distal biceps rupture rehab protocol

Hi, I ruptured my bicep tendon 6 weeks ago and had it operated 5 and a half weeks ago.
I have had no pain and FROM for week 2 really. Iv done side lateral, “pullovers” kida row with band over the elbow. Started myo rep chest press limited range and weights, same with shoulder press both Iin machine. Done this this week at week 5. No pain.

Done gripers from week 2.
all this with no pain.
I’ve hit legs as usual but hack sq, belt sq no free weight. And my upper left body with normal exercise. My doctor told me that I can’t do any sports, ie running or any exercise for first 12 weeks. This can’t be true?
Anything more I can do or do I need to wait till week 12 as my surgeon told me.

It is not true that you can’t do anything for the first 12 weeks.

However, it is difficult for us to provide individualized guidance for your situation via the forum, without knowing anything else about you or your case. There is not one standard “biceps tendon rehab protocol” that would be applicable to all people. As a result, the best recommendation I’d have would be for a consultation with a rehab professional – whether a PT local to you who you trust, or remotely with our rehab team, who would be happy to provide more guidance on the path forward.
