Does no soreness mean you have adapted to a certain volume of training?

Dear BBM crew,

im following the PB II template. My quads and hams are always very sore after the 2 days of training them, but my chest/shoulders/back never are. Does this mean i could benefit from a program with more upper body volume? Or is this just the nature of these muscles and the frequencies they are trained at?

Also, I should i focus on moving the weight or feeling the muscles when i run Hypertrophy II next?

We would not use soreness as a useful metric here. Rather, the dose and formulation of your training should be based on how you’re adapting and performing over time.
