I am 45 years old, I have arthritis presumably from my IBD, I have been training for about 12 years. Last year, I basically woke up with my Elbow not being able to extend all the way. I thought it was just Tennis or golfers elbow. But I went to my Ortho, and he said it was from my arthritis, and there is nothing I can do to ever make it extend all the way, and nothing I can really do for the Pain. I just train through it right now. Have you ever heard about anything like this, my Ortho called it bodybuilders elbow. Should I see a New Ortho? Is there a Fix?
Thanks Dr. I know you have never examined me. But do you know of any causes that could cause lack of ROM from my elbow? 1 day it was fine, Next day can’t extend it and no injury that caused it.
Osteoarthritis can cause ROM limitation, though that’s a chronic process - not an acute one. True acute reductions in joint ROM are a bit more concerning, which is why I’m recommending you get another opinion.
