Exercise is Medicine

Didn’t really know which category this one fell under so I figured I would throw it in the unmoderated forum to see if it picks up enough traction to get the moderates answering.

Ive recently completed an NSCA cert which makes me eligible to test for the Exercise is medicine credential through ACSM and was wondering what some thoughts were on this credential specifically. I feel as though it is in line with the ethos that the BBM crew follow. I haven’t seen the exact course material yet (requires a purchase) but looking at conference videos that have been done as well as some keynote speakers, it appeals to me. Creating an environment where the prescription is actually working out instead of drugs or surgeries seems like a step in the right direction.

So what’s the mindset of health care professionals regarding this type of cert held by personal trainers or strength and conditioning coaches?
