I signed up for my first meet on march 26th/2023. I have exactly 17 training weeks leading up to the meet. The low fatigue strength template is 16 weeks total, and is the training that I am planning on doing for the meet (4 day med). My question is, is the 16th week of the template supposed to be a regular training week, or does it represent the meet itself? Basically, should I complete week 16 (all singles) and then do the meet the following week?
Thank you,
Howdy,
Congrats on signing up for your first meet. With respect to program planning, I don’t think it’s likely that you’ll see continued results for the entire 16-weeks of any particular program. I would plan on starting with the 4-day med ISF template, running that for 4-8ish weeks before needing to switch to another program, e.g. 4-day low ISF, then doing the same thing, and then lather, rinse, repeat up until ~ 3-4 weeks out. At that point, you can do one of our peaking templates or the peak included in the low ISF template.

Okay, I will follow the plan that you suggested. Should I skip ahead to the more advanced weeks (more volume) on either of the two templates? What I mean is for example: week 6, I will switch to the 4 day low ISF, do I start at week 1 of that particular template or skip ahead to week 7 ?
Thanks again!
I would not skip ahead on the templates in this context.
