Any issue subbing out the day 3 squat variant for front squats in Strength I? No reason other than I like doing them.
What’s your best back squat and front squat, respectively?
Recently I’ve squatted 125 for a single (high bar) and front squatted 80 for a triple. I just started front squatting so I think I have some quick room to run there to get it closer to my bs. I’m also not a very good squatter lol (for reference I recently pulled 175).
I think you’d be better served by doing high bar as your main squat, though there are opportunities to train the front squat as a supplemental squat in the template. If you really, really, really want to do it- go ahead, but that is not my recommendation.
Thanks Jordan. Might be misunderstanding here, but my thought was to keep ‘competition’ high bar on Day 1 and whatever high bar variation the program calls for on Day 2, but sub front squat for the day 3 variation (which is usually tempo or pins/paused). Do you mean something different with your last response?
Ah, sorry I must’ve misunderstood. That’d be fine, sure.
