Gainzzz while having suffered from severe sleep apnea

Hi Team,

Just got diagnosed after having done a sleep home test and results interpreted with data that is consistent with severe sleep apnea. Next step would be to seek a follow up with my GP and get a second diagnosis.

In any case, was wondering as I never really thought about sleep apnea until recent years after seeing your company’s journals and discussions and first hand experience. Having lifted for about 6 years with barbells and prior to running rpe style training, would feel like a train had hit me in the morning and would take me hours to feel somewhat baseline energy levels after abusing caffeine.

Would you say given the amount of time spent in light sleep, in my case 63.9%, 15.4% deep sleep, and 20.6% REM sleep would have any significant effect on muscular gainz over this period of 6 years assuming everything constant over time.

i.e could i have been bigger as I in general sleep 7.5hrs - 9 hrs every night. Have had my 1RM go up over time for all my lifts consistent with the years I’ve put in but just wondering, could it have been more?

Thanks for your time.

M

It is plausible that untreated severe OSA may have led to less progress than you would have otherwise gotten during this time.

Cheers doc, not to set my expectations high but can’t wait to wake up like the guy from the film ‘Limitless’.

That would be the best!
