General question about your templates

I’ve been following your content for a few months now, starting right before a relatively long (~2 months) period of time where I was unable to train because of sickness. I was working on SSLP After that I fucked around with something similar to SSLP for a week or two and then got started with the bridge.

I’m now getting close to the end of that, and I’ve been impressed enough with both the results and you guys’ knowledge on strength training that I’ve already bought a couple of your templates and will be using them going forward. They are clear enough and I could totally do my training without them, but since I’m on vacation and have way too much time to think about training, I have started wondering about one thing.

When you give several options for exercises in a single spot, does it matter at all which one I do, or are they listed in an order of preference? For example, if the prescribed workout is “leg press or belt squat or HBBS” should I do leg press if I have access to one, belt squat if I have can do that but not leg press and HBBS only if I have access to neither of the former? Or should I just do whichever I feel like doing? Is there something else I should consider when picking the assistance work?

Also, should I stick to a single variation until the exercise changes/the template ends, or can I just change them week to week if I feel like it?

In any case, the templates look like a lot of fun and I’m sure they are effective.

Those slots offer a few choices for you to select from, and I would not over-interpret the significance of the decision. However, you can use them to see if there are specific supplemental movements that you enjoy or respond better to, which can help to inform future programming decisions if you wanted to individualize the templates a bit in subsequent runs, or potentially write your own programming in the future.

We would recommend sticking with the same movement across the weeks when those options are presented.

Thanks for the reply!
