Another “Which template?” Thread - early intermediate

Hi everyone, I just finished week 5 of the Bridge and wondering what to do next. I didn’t milk my NLP forever, so I may still have some novice gains there. I had stalled out on everything but squat, which is lagging behind because I did a significant reset to correct form errors. I really want to do the 3 or 4 day hypertrophy next, but I’m not sure if that’s too advanced and I should do Bridge, Bridge 2.0, or HLM first. Any suggestions?

Either of the hypertrophy programs would be a great next step for you.

I don’t know anything about you or your training history other than you did an LP, but I wouldn’t do an LP for your squat unless you think it’s going to add like 60 lbs in a month. You could do any template you wanted to, since in a year it’s not going to matter anyway. You could do the bridge again or bridge 2.0 if you had good results with 1.0. If you want a break from higher intensity training you could do 3 day hypertrophy and then go back to the bridge, really doesn’t matter too much. You might do the 3 day hypertrophy or endurance after the bridge/HLM/12 week strength if you choose to do one of those three next. It’s just up to you and what you want. You’ve completed the bridge, now the world is your oyster.

Thanks for the guidance!

I did the bridge then a hypertrophy block and now I’m working through the 12 week strength template. I’d say the bridge is more manageable as it isn’t 4 days. I was originally concerned about the 4day/week schedule but now that I’m working through it, its fine! It sucked for the first couple weeks while my body adjusted to the additional stress but now I’m glad I did. More stress = more addaptation and it’s awesome to be able to realize these things from all the literature the team has put out. The thing is I don’t think any of the options you listed are really too advanced for anyone since theyre RPE based. They’ll be more effective for people who use the principles better but if you have a good baseline and can execute the movements successfully then just do it and never look back!
