I train at home and I don’t own any conditioning equipment yet, so I’m not doing any HIIT atm. For LISS cardio, I’ve been going for brisk 30-40min walks but they don’t feel very productive. I’m only 170lbs at 5’10 so walks are very low impact and barely elevates my heart rate or makes me sweaty.
Outside of lifting weights and my walks, I get 0 physical activity.
I’m considering getting the Rogue Echo Bike so I can add HIIT and some productive LISS cardio into my training.
So are HIIT and LISS cardio far superior to brisk walks and important enough that I should spend a lot of money on this?
Hello! So this really depends on your conditioning needs and goals. If you want to ramp up your conditioning work you can also get a regular bike and ride that around. If you would like a piece of equipment to own for the long-term, to have on hand for years and years giving you options for LISS and HIIT, then an Echo Bike is useful. If you can afford it and want something that offers you more options than a walk, then yes, I would get one.
Piggybacking on this thread. Riding a bike around is not strictly steady-state, since you’re sometimes coasting and sometimes sprinting (e.g. up hills), but is it OK for LISS purposes for a BBM strength template, for example?
