GSC II Press Volume Question

Hello coaches,

I been enjoying the first week of the GSC II 3 day template.

In the template, press exercises seem to have 3 slots which is relatively less slots compared to hypertrophy, powerlifting, pb and other templates.

While I prefer this 3 press and 3 pull(upper back) slots for balance, I’m still curious

  1. if this is enough of volume for the press movements to progress.

  2. the reason this template has less press slots and more pull slots not like hypertrophy and power templates because I see no main upper back slots in many 3 day templates such as Strength I, Hypertrophy I, etc.

For the reference, I’m 175cm 80 kg, my best lifts are Squat 150kg, Bench Press 100kg, Deadlift 200kg.

Thanks always!

Yes, there are more dedicated rowing/pulling slots on this template, as this is not a powerlifting template where bench strength is prioritized over other upper body performance. I suspect many will respond well to this and indeed did so in my testing, though some won’t. We can’t predict this based on volume alone, however. It would be nice if we could predict it like that. However, strength response to a program is just a bit more complex.
