Over the last 2-3 weeks my wrists and hands are sore in the joints in my wrist and many of my fingers. The muscles in my hands always feel stiff and fatigued. Is this a normal thing for a 45 year old man near the end of SSLP?
Ive been taking ibuprofen but it hasn’t helped much. Also most of those joint therapy supplements are probably ineffective too.
Is this something that would get better with a lay-off or a week or two of deload?
Or should I be getting assessed for arthritis?
DK,
Thanks for the post and I hope your hands are doing okay.
To answer your question, I’m not sure I would say that what you’re reporting in your hands and wrists are normal or abnormal without much more history and detail.
I would not recommend a deload or a week off, but I would stop doing SSLP and switch programs. Likely a byproduct of fatigue management issues inherent to the program if I had to guess.
That said, if you start to/are experiences decreases in muscle size, strength, or tone in your hands or start experiencing high levels of pain, numbness, or tingling in your hands- please see a doctor.
Finally, I wouldn’t get assessed for osteoarthritis per se’. rather I’d be making sure that there are no other, more worrisome causes of pain if this thing persists.
Ok thanks!
