Heavy Light Medium program

I am working through The Bridge, and am trying to apply the programming principles in “Practical Programming” to build a Heavy/Light/Medium phase for after, rather than move into a 4 day split (provided I still respond to training 3 days a week). Is it appropriate to use RPE on this program? Essentially setting up the heavy day to go from RPE 6, to, 7, to 3 sets at 8 some weeks, and going up to 9 on other weeks? Also, I am wondering if it makes sense to stagger the heavy day throughout the week, so that Monday is not as stressful, but then there would also not be a true light day as well. Maybe the book addresses this, still need to reread this section over the next month before I try and do my own program. Thanks for your help, and all the content you produce!

Thanks,

Not to put words in their mouth, I’m not sure that the BBM crew would recommend Practical Programming as the first go-to reference for programming. That said, the book does have a couple of sample three-day HLM programs listed - why not just start with one as written and go from there? I’ll also point out the option of getting the BBM HLM template and trying that, rather than trying to reinvent the wheel yourself. I’m currently doing the HLM template myself, be aware that the volume is generally higher than the Bridge (think week 4 of the Bridge, but all the time).
