Hiit cardio

Ive been neglecting hiit cardio for some time now because my main form of hiit cardio that i like the most is sprinting but sprinting is high impact and may interfere with strength workouts (correct me on that) so i thought maybe if i do hill sprints on steep inclines is a better idea since is less impact . Current cardio routine 120mins of incline walk 20% @4.5km/h my current program hypertrophy 2 has hiitx2 a week but i dont know when to add hiit maybe i do it the same day i do cardio on gpp days?
Looking forward to your answers thanks.

Valle,

Thanks for the post. The ebook associated with the template lists some good options for HIIT. I would not sprint if you’re looking to get big and strong AND HAVE NOT been sprinting. It’s a big cost for no real gain (outside of improved sprinting tolerance). If you haven’t been doing it, I’m not sure how much you like it so maybe we do have some wiggle room

Thanks for the answer havent sprinted in a year but if its going to interfere with my gainZzZ ill pass it for now but hill sprints wouldnt be a good idea was always thinking of hill sprints like sled pushes etc.

As a modality, sprinting has some unique elements that make it a bit more stressful and risky compared to others. It’s nothing insurmountable, but I don’t see a unique benefit to it either. I would 100% do the HIIT programmed for you in some capacity however.
