Hip Belt Squats?

Any thoughts on the role of hip belt squats within Intermediate/ Advanced trainees?
More specifically, I noticed a note in the 12 week strength template for supplemental DL2 with a preference for leg presses to save a potentially overworked back. Would the hip belt squat be appropriate in this application?

To be perfectly honest, I was also curious if it might help my DL off the floor. (I tend to SLDL and shift to the toes often on heavy misses). I’m not crazy about the reduced posterior work for this variant, but thought I would ask. Thanks.

Yes, we like belt squats very much, and they’re a fine substitute for the leg press.

Good to know. Thanks Austin.
