Hip Bursitis

I’ve been diagnosed with left hip bursitis by two doctors. First diagnosis - July 2017, 2nd diagnosis - Oct 2017. I asked a while back on Jordan’s insta live what I should do for hip bursitis and he replied that it should go away on its own. Several months later, I still have symptoms that have not gotten any better. It usually doesn’t interfere with weightlifting at all except for some mild discomfort. However, walking around my house or around campus occasionally causes severe pain with each step I take with my left leg. After my second diagnosis, they (obviously) recommended PT. I decided to go to one appointment just to see what they would say. By the time the PT said “weak glute medius” I decided to not return. I’m considering a cortisone injection. Do you guys have any alternate recommendations? If not, how do I convince my doctor to give me the injection without doing PT. Thanks guys.

It’s a bit unusual that it seems you can train nearly pain-free, but walking causes severe pain. I’m not sure we’re going to be of much assistance through this medium.

What type of physicians did you see? Are you going to see them again for follow up?
