hook grip and calluses

I like the hook grip for the deadlift but I get bad calluses on my hands where the ring and pinky finger start. Is there any way to grip the bar better to avoid this? I already use chalk but I’m thinking about an alternate grip or straps. I’m a PT and rough hands are not good when Massaging patients.

You can grip the bar a bit lower (distal) in your hand, so the bar lies across the base of your fingers.

Of course, you could also opt to not perform silly interventions on patients, too

yeah wada ya gonna do. people like thier massages  when I get my own Praxis I will offer movement therapy, exclusively

If you don’t already, consider filing your calluses and apply lotion periodically.

A cheap pumice stone makes quick work of calluses.
