How can I stop eating all the nuts at once?

I’m embarrassed to admit that during the past 2 days, I ate 1kg of cashew nuts (day 1) and 1kg of peanuts (day 2).

My plan was throw like 30g of those in my oats with some whey protein and an apple to get a balanced meal in the morning, but I always end up eating them when I feel stressed out or when I’m bored.

The real issue is once I start munching, it’s hard to stop until all the nuts are in my stomach. I tried to stop midway and put the container back in the cupboard but I don’t feel good afterwards and always end up going back to eat them all.

This isn’t the first time either. I do this every time I buy nuts.

I tried not buying them at all, which works, but since I really like eating nuts, it makes me feel miserable. Nuts are also a good source of fiber and unsaturated fats and I like having them in my oats, so it’s like I’m missing out on some good stuff as well.

I’m trying to come up with a strategy that will allow me to still buy and enjoy nuts but in moderation. Because if I keep doing this, I’m gonna mess my health up because nuts are high in omega-6.

Does anyone have a similar experience they can share the solution for?

Are you buying them in a big tub? If so, have you tried buying them portioned instead? Maybe that defined stopping point could help you.
