How far out is a good time to prepare for your first meet?

I’m actually considering entering my first meet.

About how far out is a good time to prepare?

I’m in CA and checking the Powerlifting Watch website, the next meet in my state is on ‘Sunday, November 10, 2019’. That would be only 7 weeks to prepare. That’s probably not enough time for a first time competitor to prepare for my first meet is it?

After that, there’s nothing scheduled for a while.

I actually think that less experienced lifters can get away with shorter meet preps if they’ve actually been training, as they’re usually not as trained or competitive as a more advanced lifter.

I’d plan on running our slow-peak prior to the meet and giving it a go! Let us know how you do!
