Hello. I noticed that Austin and Jordan use the mixed grip pretty narrow, just as if they were deadlifting DOH or hook. However when I do the mixed I cannot get narrow without slight pointing my supinate elbow out, which cause slightly less contact with the bar on the supinated hand. Just wanted to ask if this is ok, and if you guys do this because it’s kind of hard to tell from your training videos.
I’m not super clear on what you’re asking. The bar needs to be in contact with your legs on both sides.
My bad I meant, the supinated HAND has less contact with the BAR because the hand “twists” when I point my elbows slightly OUT. If this helps, stand up and let your arms hang pronated. Lock your elbows with your triceps. Now try to supinate your hand WITHOUT changing the position of your elbow. At least for me I cannot fully supinate my hand without letting my elbows twist in a little bit. The problem with this is that you have to grip pretty wide on deadlifts or else the elbow gets in the way of the knees.
You may need to bump the grip width out by a finger width or two on the supinated side, depending on your elbow carrying angle.
Ok, appreciate it!
