How to know if I am executing hip drive correctly during low bar squat?

I just saw a video of 5 pillars that changed my perception and made me think that I am doing it wrong. ‘Knee forward’, should my knee stay in the same position during the first part of the ascent? That means doing a conscious effort to let them stay in the same position? (Because if I just follow my body, my knee will unlock first at the same time my hips are trying to come forward)

Hi Morning Coffee and welcome! You are welcome to post a form check down in the unmoderated section or on the BBM FB group. However, without seeing your squat, the general advice would be to hold your knees a bit on the ascent, yes. You don’t want to pull your knees back first to start the ascent.
