squat descent

Can you recommend a good way of thinking about the descent in the squat? For some reason I have a hard time thinking about moving the knees forward and the hips back at the same time. The movements just seem contradictory. I have been mainly thinking about the movement as moving the hips back, but I don’t think my knees go forward that much.

What happens when you sit down on a chair? Your knees go forward, and your hips go back - not contradictory at all. If you are having trouble with the movement, I’d recommend posting a form check video to our FB group.
