Increase calories

If I need to increase calories by 200 cal to increase weight and hypertrophy and am eating enough daily protein, can I increas them by fat (olive oil or almonds or something) or I would get more hypertrophy if I increase by carbs?

if the latter if I eat enough fiber per day is it ok for the carbs to come from simple sugars (white bread, dates, figs etc)? Or that would cause more fat gain? My system can’t handle more daily fiber

Some good questions here. Provided someone is not eating a low-carbohydrate diet, e.g. < 25% of daily Cals from carbohydrates, adding more fuel from fats vs carbohydrates is mostly personal preference.

All else being equal, I don’t think simple vs complex carb source matters provided someone is getting enough fiber and otherwise adherent to their Calorie needs.
