Jefferson Curl

Greeting BBM crew,

I would like to know your opinion about Jefferson curl for strengthening spinal erectors, along with more traditional exercises (e.g. back extension, good morning, etc.)???

What I found in the PRO’s camp is that it’s useful for stretching purpose (not a lot of information about the strengthening effect).
In the CON’s camp, this exercise is suppose to break your back and you should never do it (more like McGill and his “no spinal bending” dogma).

I think that there are few, if any, uniquely beneficial exercises. I also think the “spinal bending=break your back” rationale has been thoroughly discredited.
