I get these insane knots in my rhomboid area and underneath my scapula. They are pretty painful and annoying. The only thing that seems to help loosen them up in rolling on a lacrosse ball. Could doing a ton of rows and pulldowns cause that area of my back to get knotted up they way it does. Or is just a normal part of being a human being. Also any suggestions to break up those knots would be helpful.
Hopefully we can offer some sanity to the situation. Doing “a ton” of anything can increase the likelihood of an area being sore and that is most definitely a normal part of being a human being. Sometimes it is lightening the load and working some more within our limits that is the best defense against that sensation. You’re not “breaking up” anything but if you want to rub on the area that is perfectly fine. I would give this a read for some reference on the topic.
