Left flank Morel-Lavallee Lesion

Hello,

My husband came off his mountain bike a few weeks ago and suffered a ‘left flank Morel- Lavallee lesion’ which presented as a protruding bulge on the left side of his trunk a week after the fall. On 7th Nov (17 days ago) he had surgery which consisted of an incision and drainage.

The wound appears to be healing well and he began running a few days ago.

Would you advise that he is able to recommence weight training (with high reps, light loads) at this point in time? His main concern is the wound separating.

Cheers,

Alicia

Hi there-

If his surgeon is OK with him returning to running, it seems likely he’d be fine to return to strength training, but unfortunately this isn’t something I’m able to give great advice on remotely without any evaluation of my own.
