Lifting shoe questions

I understand the advantages that a heeled lifting shoe offers, such as arch support, stability etc

During my novice LP a couple of years ago I used flats, they were similar to chucks. I eventually switched to Oly shoes and have been using them for just under a year. Occasionally I’ll use my flats (maybe once every few months), and I still feel stronger using flats, but only marginally (10lbs or so). Weirdly enough, I also feel more stable.

Should I still continue to use the heeled shoe because of the benefits it offers or stick to flats?

nb: my heeled lifting shoes heel is 37mm/1.5 inches

My flats are hi-tops, so there may be some ankle support, though it may only be perceived support.

What are you squatting right now weight wise?

418 x 3

i also seem to favour a wideish stance. Not ultra wide but wider than most.

I think that the difference in performance is unlikely to be due to the shoes so I would pick one, commit to it, and stay your course.
