Logging calories and beer

So, you may all know how some beers like Michelob Ultra boast that they have only “2.6 carbs” and 95 calories but the calories don’t really add up.

I think they also have .5g of protein, so my estimation brings the effective carbs up to about 24g per bottle, if you include the alcohol as a carb.

Would this be a better way to add up your macros?

I know ideally, no alcohol would be best, but trying to fit them into my daily macros when I’m going to drink it anyway, I will at least feel like I’m not completely blowing it as badly as if I had the beer in addition to all of my other daily calories.

Yes.

Take the reported calories, divide by 4 and log the result as carbs. You could also divide by 9 and log as fat.

I agree with Dave on the math. I log it as carbs.

I could fit it into my muscle gain macros on most days if I planned ahead, but it’s damn near impossible on recomp or cut to hit my fiber and protein numbers if I have any alcohol at all. Gives me a nice justification to get off the sauce for a while, honestly.
