Maintaining GPP

What’s up Doc,

When transitioning from a template that has built up to a relatively high level of GPP to another template with relatively low GPP (at least initially) what would you prefer, drop down to the new prescribed amount, or continue at the previous level? Or even add more?

I’d continue at the previous level, unless the overall goals have changed in a way that would benefit from changing the emphasis on conditioning (like if you were going into a peaking phase towards a meet, for example, or a strength focus from an endurance focus).
