Hi,
You’ve likely answered this before but I can’t specifically find where, so asking here.
Muscle protein synthesis has the sweet spot when consuming 20-40g protein every 3-5 hours (assuming ~3g leucine in said protein) - think that’s pretty well fact now?
There’s also ranging theories on the total daily protein in-take 1.6-3.2g protein per kg of bodyweight
Is there, therefore, a point at which the body reaches a protein saturation point in a daily period and that MPS fails to spike as it would usually?
For example, I’m 85kg and focused on gaining strength/mass - targeting ~180g protein per day.
If I were to wake at 5am and consume 40g protein (with ~3g leucine) every 3 hours until 11pm (= 280g daily protein) is there a point at which the MPS rate would diminish or even fail to spike?
Cheers
