Nasal vs. Mouth Breathing

Hi BBM Team

again and again I read about the importance of nasal breathing, then again eg. Mike Israetel says thats total nonsense and I tend to believe him because moreoften then not these over the tops claims seem to be to sell a product.

Is there any evidence?

Or is it maybe some kind of casuality/correlation thing where overweight folks tend to breath through their mouth because they have a hard time breathing through the nose and thus you could get the idea that nasal breathing is healthier because more fit people do it?

thanks as always

I’m not sure what the question is exactly. Can you clarify?

hmmm

the question would be. Would it be reasonable to “force” myself to breath through my nose because I tend to breath through my mouth very much.

I’m not the doc’s but I can’t imagine this matters. Like at all.

I can’t imagine that we would have survived long as a species if we could breathe through two holes in our head, but breathing through one led to longer survival, procreation viability or any other outcome. :person_shrugging:

So it is probably some kind of fear mongering again to sell some products…

I’d wager that most stuff, particularly on social media, is just that.
